About me

I've been larping since 1989, mostly in Norway, but I made a brief stint in England in 1991, and an unsuccesful attempt at gathering Trondheimians for Dragonbane. My most active period was from 1989-2001, during which time I also organized (together with others) five larps myself and aided in various ways with the organizing of sundry others. Since about 2005 I've been what I would call a casual larper, with activity varying greatly. I've been quite active in The Village-project in Troendelag and I also maintained and updated my own larp-site Morigel for some years.

Morigel (http://morigel.laiv.org/english/mainpage.html) is my personal larp-site, now not realy updated since about 2005. It still contains texts in english that I still consider fair summaries of where I "stand" with regards to larp in general, and "The Nordic Scene" in particular. Some of my opinions are a bit dated though, I gueass age has mellowed me a bit. Still, check out the link and please give me feedback if you like or dislike anyhing. Morigel may or may not be updated, see current projects below.

My best larp experience

Hard to tell. There's been many. Perhaps the naturally occuring fog sneaking up to the magicians' tent at Brytningstid in 1995. Or maybe the aurora borealis at Hvit som sne in 1997. The little boy (a son of my friends) who found the runestones casually thrown away by wizards and then went on to publicly accuse the same wizards of spreading dread and fear at "Den siste hvile" in 1997. Or maybe playing a hardened veteran suddenly and unexpectedly being forced to comfort a woman who just learned that her lover had died...

All in all I think I'll go with this one: Having created an entire larp in which a central vision of a powerful female earl on a horse leading a procession of dignitaries in a fantasy/viking-setting. And having this particular vision come true in exactlt the way I had perceived it. "Hjemkomsten" 1997.

Pondering whether or not I should update and refresh Morigel in time for Knutepunkt...
